Belgian economic mission to New York

From 6 to 9 October, ecobuild.brussels will be part of a Belgian delegation that will be heading to New York as part of an economic mission to strengthen business partnerships between Belgium and the US, with HRH Princess Astrid presiding.

Taking advantage of the unique momentum created by The Build Back Better Plan, this mission will focus on sustainable construction, cleantech & climate tech, food, mobility, logistics, citizen participation, smart cities and renewable energy.

The Build Back Better Plan is a projected $7 trillion COVID-19 relief, future economic, and infrastructure package proposed by President Joe Biden, which will include investments in infrastructure, and is projected to create 10 million clean-energy jobs. Expenditures would also include government funds on housing, education, economic fairness and health care.

Friday 08/10 : Empire Building Challenge

NYSERDA is creating public-private partnerships with leading commercial and multifamily real estate owners to recruit best-in-class international equipment manufacturers, solution providers, and other businesses to invest in low carbon retrofit technology development in New York State. These partnerships will have to overcome the barriers preventing existing high-rise buildings from achieving aggressive energy performance and GHG emissions targets.

NYSERDA encourages direct collaboration among the world’s largest real estate companies, cleantech manufacturers, and solution providers worldwide. By joining forces, the real estate and technology sectors can uncover new solutions for low carbon high-rise buildings.
