The programme includes the “Ecole Neuve”, with 216 students from 2.5 to 12 years old in active education, scouting facilities and urban vegetable gardens.
The school is compact in volume and located at the rear of the plot, so it can enjoy quality outdoor spaces. The structure, vertical walls and room separations are made of prefabricated solid wood panels.
The 3×3 m grid allows the creation of spaces that meet the needs of the programme and the surface area requirements per room. The layout of the premises was designed to create real support for the active Montessori-inspired education, with flexible premises, natural light, and a central distribution.
The scouting premises are included in the corner building owned jointly with the neighbouring house.
The width and plan follow the pattern of Brussels house, with a staircase against the gable and two adjoining rooms.
