Sustainable construction is a rapidly evolving sector with many different players. It is therefore difficult to assess its importance in the Brussels Region. However, that is the purpose of this study, which was carried out between late 2022 and early 2023.
This report uses a multidisciplinary approach to objectify the economic and social weight of the sector. It aims to provide a better understanding of the sector, its challenges and its potential for internationalisation.
hub.brussels has identified the sustainable construction sector as one of the priority sectors in its 2020-2023 strategy. Besides export issues, this study also provides an in-depth overview of the sector’s ecosystem, needs, strengths and weaknesses.
This analysis is the result of a fine collaboration between the Export Business Unit, the Research Business Unit, Idea Consult and ecobuild.brussels.
