Project of transformation of the buildings of the old Carmel Saint-Joseph aiming to welcome about 30 residents, mainly persons victims of forced migration, but also persons participating to the activities of the Josefa Foundation who was at the initiative of the current project.
The Carmelite nuns of Saint-Joseph have put their Carmel at the disposal of the residents and financed the heavy renovation works that were necessary for the use as an accommodation facility. The house disposes of 4 family housings, 14 individual accommodations, one conciergerie, common spaces for the residents (kitchen, living room, bathrooms, library, multiconfessional meditation room, laundry room), an artistic area, a cultural area, a medical area and workspaces.
The priorities, in order of importance:
- The security of the residents (fire safety, technical renovations, …)
- The organisation of the house (organisation of circulation, housings and services)
- The improvement of the energetic performances (isolation, ventilation, sanitary hot water)
- Comfort of the residents and the aesthetic appearance (valorisation of the existing building)
