CBS Kannercampus Belval South District

CBS Kannercampus Belval South District

A 260 m2 green wall was installed in front of 24 cm of insulation at the sports hall of the Belval South District campus in Luxembourg. A self-supporting steel structure had to be constructed to bear the loads and avoid thermal bridges.

The green wall is entirely self-sufficient in terms of water thanks to underground rainwater cisterns that collect water from adjacent roofs on the campus. The wall has moisture sensors that display the moisture level in the wall in real time, allowing you to remotely adjust watering, if necessary, via a 3G connection. There is also a water flow sensor that can detect possible leaks or a lack of water.

Aromatic plants and strawberries grow in the lower portion of the wall so that children on the campus can interact with them. The majority of the plants are evergreens and bloom throughout the year so that all four seasons are covered.
