The new European Bauhaus Prizes highlight concrete, aesthetic, sustainable and inclusive projects, while encouraging young people to develop new ideas and concepts.

The well-established annual European Bauhaus Prize competition celebrates creativity, talent and innovation in the service of local communities and society at large. The 2021, 2022, and 2023 editions have attracted great interest, with over 4,500 entries and 52 winners awarded so far, demonstrating the international commitment to shaping a new European world inspired by the Bauhaus.

Additional focus on Ukraine and the specific challenges of EU regions

This year, in addition to the EU Member States and the Western Balkans, entries from projects and concepts in Ukraine are being accepted for the first time. The “Special Recognition to Ukraine’s Reconstruction and Recovery Effort” awards will recognise initiatives that contribute to the reconstruction of Ukraine in line with the values of the New European Bauhaus. In addition, the focus is on projects in EU regions facing challenges related to the digital and ecological transition.

To apply for the New European Bauhaus Awards 2024, here is the key information:

  • Application deadline: 10 November 2023 at 19:00.
  • Eligibility: Candidates of any nationality may participate if their projects are implemented in the EU, the Western Balkans or Ukraine.
  • Submission: Entries must be submitted via the official European Bauhaus Prize platform.
  • Prizes: The 20 winners will receive prizes of up to €30,000, as well as a communication kit to promote their projects.
  • Announcement of the winners: The winners will be announced at the New European Bauhaus Festival in Brussels from 17 to 21 April 2024.
  • Applicant’s Guide: All detailed information is available in the Applicant’s Guide, which is available in several EU, Western Balkan and Ukrainian languages.
