Van Eetvelde Architectes is a Brussels-based architecture practice boasting extensive experience of several project types (private and group housing, offices, facilities, etc.). The firm is now run by the second generation of the family, who have gradually taken the reins of this long-established practice.
The company is managed jointly by François and Nicolas Van Eetvelde. Previously working as independent architects, the father-and-son duo decided to join forces in 2006 when the Laruelle Act passed, pushing many architects to create companies. Van Eetvelde Architectes SPRL was born.
The company inherited a dedicated team, a loyal customer base, over thirty years of experience, and new momentum to move forward and develop its activities.
Other than the two partners, the team consists of a secretary, two architects, a project manager, an interior architect and two draughtspeople.
The firm maintains close communication with its customers in order to fulfil their unique needs and desires. VEA offers complete control over projects by focusing on key aspects such as timescales, costs, detailed specifications, resource management, and the relationships between the various parties involved in the process. The firm’s staff speak several languages and undergo continuing professional development in a variety of fields (energy efficiency, public procurement, etc.).
The practice is constantly reflecting on contemporary issues and the specific, made-to-measure solutions it can bring to the table for each individual project. Indeed, context, landscape, culture, and built environment are already part of an architectural project, before we even begin to consider the approach or technical decisions. The firm designs understated and fitting solutions, with no catalogue or stylistic preconceptions.
