oPla is an architectural studio founded in 2011 by three Belgian and Portuguese partners and located in Anderlecht. Our offices can be found in Recy-K, the circular platform of Bruxelles-Propreté.
In addition to its primary interest in the fundamental questions of architecture – social issues, spaces, forms, materials, light, shadow, production, etc. – oPla has been interested in and experimenting with the circular economy in architecture for several years now.
These concerns can be identified, for example, in the development projects of the Recy-K plateau, where oPla is located, the cityfab1 at Greenbizz, the Bidules shop next to Bozar, and the project to redevelop the hub.brussels reception areas on Chaussée de Charleroi.
All these undertakings have led us to think about projects with this in mind and find the right sources and partners to produce efficient and spatially ambitious projects.
oPla also has extensive experience in international projects. For example, within Europe, oPla has carried out three projects in France – two in Lyon and one in Paris (complete interior fittings of 750 m2 and renovation of two studios) – as well as a now completed project in Lisbon.
