Les Chantiers Battus is a collective of Brussels-based architects and builders that supports citizens in taking an active role in their environment through “doing.
Our work is based on two key areas:
1) Supporting first-time owners to carry out an eco-friendly self-renovation of their home. This takes the form of individual support, and theoretical and practical training on managing construction sites and carrying out renovation work.
2) Supporting citizen collectives, the socio-cultural sector and public authorities in reappropriating public spaces through co-designing, raising awareness and running participatory construction sites with stakeholders. Our practice is structured around four pillars: sharing, ecology, participation and friendliness.
