In February, the ecobuild.brussels team and 4 members attended the Forum Bois Construction in Paris. This experience was a true catalyst for projects and reflections on the future of wood construction. This is what inspired us to highlight this theme in our actions and communication during the spring of 2025. Site visits, inspiring events, and exclusive content—let’s shine a spotlight on wood!
Inspiring construction sites
Visit to the Pacheco construction site
The first appointment on the Printemps du Bois agenda is the Pacheco construction site, an example of the sustainable requalification of a building. Mattias D’Hooghe from architectesassoc+ and Luc Sohier from WOW will guide us on a tour. While preserving the exterior character of the brutalist volume, the double-height workshop space has been reimagined as an indoor plaza, sheltered by a wooden structure bathed in light.
25/04: fully booked, but we will share images and interviews on our social media.
Visit to the Woodhub construction site
Another key stop is discovering the Woodhub project. Be Cambium presented this innovative project in 2024: https://ecobuild.brussels/en/projects/wood-hub-a-model-of-innovation-and-sustainability-in-the-heart-of-brussels/. In June, we will have the chance to see how wood has been integrated into this project.
13/06: members only, invitation to follow.
Must-attend events
Recap of the Forum Bois Construction
Through an article, we will share our experience at the Forum Bois Construction at the Grand Palais in Paris. The cluster members who joined us will provide their feedback, and we will share two solutions presented at the exhibition through an interview on our social media.
Pitch It
Among the members who will pitch their projects at this 2025 edition, some companies working with wood will also participate. Additionally, other solutions and companies shaping the future of sustainable construction will be present.
Join us on May 20th in the evening at Usquare.
Wood Day
An immersion in the local and responsible wood sector. We offer you a deep dive into the wood value chain, from sustainably managed spruce forests to its transformation into certified CLT and its use in two sustainable buildings. This day is offered by PEFC Belgium, ecobuild.brussels, Ligne Bois, and Stabilame.
22/05: fully booked, but we will share images and interviews on our social media.
The “Ateliers d’ecobuild”
We are preparing a thematic meeting on the subject of wood with experts. More information to come. Stay informed!
Our publications
In addition to the recap of the Forum Bois Construction, we are preparing two articles on the topic of wood. We will feature projects that promote the use of wood. We will take you along on site visits or the Wood Day through articles, videos, and interviews on our various communication channels. Our upcoming newsletters will be dedicated to wood and will guide you to our publications if you missed them.
