Expo 2025 Osaka – opportunities and meetings

BelExpo, the General Commissariat for International Exhibitions, is committed on a daily basis to promoting Belgium and its federated states on an economic, social and cultural level. More specifically, BelExpo is responsible for Belgium’s participation in international and world exhibitions.

In April 2025, the Expo 2025 Osaka world exhibition will open its doors to millions of visitors. Belgium will participate in this exhibition after the successful Expo 2020 in Dubai. Several companies are supporting Belgium’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka. Not only the companies, but also the institutional partners, including hub.brussels, are contributing greatly from start to finish. We could not realise the Belgian participation without this support.

The main theme of Expo 2025 Osaka is “Designing the future society for our lives”, and Belgium will focus on the sub-theme “Saving lives” during the exhibition. We will present our know-how, innovations, scientific achievements and technical capabilities in this field.

BelExpo is currently in the preparation phase of the Osaka Expo 2025. The public tender for the design, construction, maintenance and dismantling of the Belgian pavilion was launched in November 2022. BelExpo will continue to work with the remaining candidate consortia on a concrete proposal in the coming months. The specifications include the construction of the pavilion itself, including the design of the general areas. The content of the exhibition, also known as the scenography, as well as the look and feel of the public areas, including the restaurant, the shop and the roof terrace, are not included in this specification. A new call for tenders for this second part of the pavilion will be issued later this year.

The remaining candidates will try to come up with as complete and impressive a plan for the Belgian pavilion as possible within the budget. To do this, they of course need your help and support. The support you can give can help the Belgian pavilion to grow from an average pavilion to an extraordinary and spectacular one.

In exchange for the support partners can offer, they can count on several advantages such as visibility, exclusive invitations, private use of certain areas of the pavilion, etc. Although the partners will support the final winner of the public tender, they will become partners of the Belgian pavilion for Expo 2025 Osaka and BelExpo will guarantee the possible benefits. More information on the concrete benefits is available at https://belexpo.be/en/news/opportunities-partners.

Supporting the construction of the Belgian pavilion can be done in different ways: financially or in kind. The latter can, for example, take the form of materials, products, technologies or other elements.

Supporting the construction of the Belgian pavilion can be done in several ways: financially or in kind. The latter can be done, for example, by offering materials, products, technologies or services. This is therefore the perfect opportunity to make your own specialities tangible in the Belgian pavilion, so that our thousands of visitors or perhaps your own guests can witness them.

Moreover, you can make a difference with your organisation and play an important role in the design and construction of the Belgian pavilion for Expo 2025 Osaka. A win-win for all parties!

We are currently gauging your interest in becoming a partner of our participation in Expo 2025 Osaka. If you are interested in supporting the candidate consortia to deliver an extraordinary pavilion, please give BelExpo a call at expo2025osaka@economie.fgov.be ! The candidates will then receive your details and can contact you when there is a possible match with their project.

Do not hesitate to get in touch with your trusted contact at hub.brussels if you have any further questions.
