Reuse and recycling are pillars of the circular economy, particularly in the construction sector, which is one of the largest producers of waste (nearly 45 million tonnes per year in France) and the second largest emitter of greenhouse gases after transport.
The implementation of EPR schemes for building products and materials by eco-organisations, notably through the deployment of collection points and support via calls for tenders and calls for expressions of interest, is gradually enabling stakeholders to organise themselves and change practices on construction sites in favour of reuse and recycling.
At the same time, new professions are emerging, training courses are being developed, tools are being created, and companies are transforming their activities in areas such as selective removal, packaging, equipment control, recovery processes, resource studies, etc.
Players in the sector are therefore being led to review their practices, both in the demolition and construction markets.
8:30 AM: Doors Open (Coffee reception and member stands)
9:30 AM: Opening Speeches
Topic: What’s New in Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for Building Products and Materials? A review of actions over the past year. The presentation of studies on construction and demolition waste in the Hauts-de-France region will highlight the necessary actions taken by Eco-Organizations in recent months. A reminder of the regulatory evolution of pre-work diagnostics—the first step in identifying future resources—will emphasize that circularity also depends on the efforts of each stakeholder to transform their practices.
Material Management: What Are the Needs of Stakeholders and Territories? What Tools Facilitate Action? New dynamics are emerging in our region to meet the needs of all stakeholders. A focus on regional initiatives and testimonials from organizations working together to support local actors will provide solutions.
12:00 PM – 1:30 PM: Lunch Break and Member Stands
