The House of Sustainable Transitions of the VUB is organizing its Open House on April 24, 2026, at Usquare, bringing together companies, organizations, and researchers around sustainability challenges and collaboration.

About

The House of Sustainable Transitions (HOST), supported by the VUB, brings together more than 200 researchers from various disciplines. Its goal is to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable society by bringing research closer to real-world practice.

 

The Open House connects the academic world with professional actors around sustainability themes. Companies can also share their challenges and co-create solutions with researchers.

Program

The event will take place in the form of a “Learning Festival” featuring various interactive and inspiring activities:

  • Keynotes and conferences on sustainability challenges
  • Thematic sessions (“Stories of Hope”, “Hands-on Hope”, etc.)
  • Participatory workshops and collaborative activities
  • Presentations of research projects
  • Networking and exchange sessions

 

The program runs throughout the day and covers topics such as climate action, sustainable economy, and social innovation.
