Call for Papers : LEHM 2024 – 9th International Conference on Earth Construction

The Lehm eV umbrella association is the federal association for the promotion of clay construction in Germany. Every four years we hold an international LEHM conference with a supporting program and excursion. After 1994, 1997, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020, it is the 9th international event organized by the umbrella organization Lehm eV. Each of these events has attracted several hundred participants from all over the world.

We are pleased to be able to inform you that it has been possible to hold LEHM  2024 as the 9th International Conference on Earth Construction from September 27th to 29th, 2024 in Weimar, the cradle of German Classicism, birthplace of the Bauhaus and UNESCO World Heritage Site to be able to.

In addition to the earth building conference with a lecture program and poster session, LEHM  2024 will also include an excursion program on September 29, 2024.

As part of the LEHM  2024, a young talent prize in clay construction 2024 will be awarded, in which academic theses will be awarded. (The award is made separately by the Lehm eV umbrella association).

Call for Papers

For the earth building conference, we would like to use this information to invite all interested colleagues to submit thematically relevant lectures and contributions for a parallel poster session. The conference program includes the following main topics:

  1. Standardization in earthen construction
  2. current research results in earth construction
  3. Education in earthen construction
  4. Sustainability in earth building
  5. Modern earth building
  6. Earth construction in monument preservation

We request short versions of the lectures (abstracts) or contributions for the poster session of no more than 500 words on the topics mentioned , with the title and name(s) of the author(s) in German or English. On a separate sheet, please provide your name and address, company/organization with email address, telephone/fax, as well as brief information about the type of work you do with clay as a building material.

From the proposals received, the Scientific Committee will use a parallel review process to select papers for an oral presentation lasting a maximum of 20 minutes at the conference and for the poster session.
These lectures as well as the contributions for the poster session will be included in a conference proceedings, which will be available digitally at the conference. The authors concerned are requested to submit their contributions in full text with figures in digital form, tables, graphics, etc. The authors of the contributions to the oral presentation must register for the conference. In order to ensure that the conference proceedings are completed on time, the following schedule must be adhered to. Information on page layout is provided as separate information for authors on the DVL website . Contributions arriving late cannot be included in the conference proceedings.
