The Circular Buildings Coalition (CBC) is launching its 2025 Open Call to support circular solutions that are already tested and scalable – known as “Blueprint Projects”. These pilot projects serve as inspiring models that can be applied on a larger scale within the construction sector. The aim of this call is to accelerate the transition to a circular built environment in Europe.
This call is aimed at innovators and project leaders who wish to demonstrate the feasibility of their solutions, overcome barriers to adoption, and facilitate the widespread dissemination of their solutions for a real and sustainable impact.
Selected projects will benefit from:
- Up to €70,000 in funding
- Facilitated market access
- Networking support and visibility within the sector
The themes covered by this call include:
- Ensuring the quality of secondary materials: Developing validation and certification systems to ensure the reliability of reused materials.
- Valuing reused materials: Highlighting the economic and environmental value of second-hand materials.
- Improving information flows: Creating tools to facilitate data sharing about materials throughout the value chain.
Examples of previously supported projects include:
- Concular: A digital platform that facilitates the traceability and reuse of building materials by connecting suppliers of second-hand materials with potential buyers.
- Circotrade: An online marketplace dedicated to the exchange of reusable building materials, aimed at promoting the circular economy in the construction sector.
- BASE Foundation: An initiative that develops business models to integrate circularity into construction projects, focusing on sustainability and resilience.
